How to make: Roll Over Buttons

To make a roll over button you first have to open up Adobe Photoshop and set up your page with a width of 125 pixels and a height on 25 pixels. Then you go to image and select image size, resizing it so it is bigger and easier to work with, you would then unlock the layer by double clicking the padlock, pick a colour and use the fill tool to colour it in and name the layer ‘Page load’. Next you duplicate the layer and rename it ‘roll over’, you then pick a slightly lighter or slightly darker colour and colour it in that on your ‘roll over’ layer. Then you add the text you want to the image and press Ctrl+R to bring up the rulers, since we are working in pixels you have to right click on the ruler and select the measurement pixels. Using the text you had put, duplicate it and change the text to whatever you want and you can do this as many times as you need. Then to get it back to its original size you would go back to image size and put in 125.

Audio Project.

The brief I have been given is to create a sound track about an alien invasion on the empire estate building in New York with a still image going all through the audio. To do this i first had to do some research into sounds of alien invasions by looking at videos on you tube and listening to the sounds that they use, like this video.

Next i will have to think about what sounds would be within this soundtrack like,

• Alien’s talking
• Fire
• Ray Guns
• Gun shots
• Sirens
• crashes
• screaming
• building collapse
• Walkie talkie noises
• helicopters
• jets
• Dramatic music
• radio reports

I will have to find these sounds on a website called freesound and download them into my audio file.

The next step would be to create the Sound tack, to do this i will be using Adobe premiere pro which is a software that you can use to create videos and sound files. Using the sound files i have downloaded my plan is to create a scee where everything is fine and the workers are about to go home. This is when the aliens will start attacking, it will start by a news report saying that there are aliens attacking, people will be trying to run to there cars and drive away. There will be sirens and gunshots going off along with screaming as the aliens got closer. The music will get more dramatic as it got on and it will end with the sound of things burning and the aliens flying off.

The project must be a minute long and the file must be exported as a DV AVI file.
